EDUCATIONAL SUPPLIES YEAR 1 AWARD
Approved Promise Scholars can qualify* for an Educational Supplies Award in their first year (at any college--students who attend another college for their first year*** (2023-24) by completing:

• WSCC's online orientation and

• an in-person summer "Ramp It Up" event on WSCC's campus before August 1, 2023 

  • Session 1: July 13, 9:30-1:15​

  • Session 2: July 19, 9:30-1:15

  • Session 3: July 20, 9:30-1:15

  • Session 4: July 25, 9:30-1:15

Four "Ramp It Up" sessions will be offered in July 2023, and sign-up in advance is required. Once students complete online orientation, information about signing up for a session will be emailed to them. No additional form will be necessary to complete*.  Awards will be distributed once per academic year.  Promise Scholars who attend WSCC for a second year (fall/winter) will have the option to qualify for a second award.  Award amounts may vary by year by taking First Year Seminar, so be sure to enroll in that course when signing up for fall classes. 
 

*Students who complete online orientation but are unable to attend an in-person summer info session can complete the "alternative qualification form" for their year 1 award. Please note: most students will need to attend "Ramp It Up, as only early college students meet alternative qualifications. You can find the form by clicking HERE.*

For the incoming class in fall 2023, the award will be available to use in mid-August at the WSCC online bookstore. 

(Note that after the drop period, remaining Educational Award funds will be distributed with WSCC's financial aid refund checks to students to cover any remaining educational supplies or educational supplies costs for winter semester). 

EDUCATIONAL SUPPLIES: YEAR 2 AWARD

Approved returning Promise Scholars can qualify** for an Educational Supplies Award in their second year by completing:

• First Year Seminar Course

• and the Promise Renewal process before August 1, 2023 prior to fall semester.

Awards will be distributed once only for returning students during the academic year. Returning students in 2023-24 will be considered for the "Year 2 Award" only.  No additional form will be necessary to complete**.

**Students who did not take FYS in their first year because the completed FYS (or 12 other credits with a C or better) during dual enrollment, or took an equivalent course at another college can complete the "alternative qualification form" for their year 2 award.  You can find the form by clicking HERE.

For all returning scholars with approved renewals in fall 2023, the award will be available to use in mid-August at the WSCC online bookstore or for other educational supplies.

***Students transferring back from another college would be considered for the year 2 award (returning students).
